Every Friday we do our neighborhood watch run. It takes around 1 hour to complete our 25 mile drive which begins and ends at our community center building. After finishing we sometimes check out the small lending library (3 bookcases) that residents can use. Today I found a copy of Dickens Great Expectations and brought it home. I kept thinking that I may have read this before but could not remember. later as I began to look at it I was amused to see my library stamp on an opening page. Apparently I had donated it to the
library at some point. Is this a senior moment or just another indication that I am indeed a dolt!

Today was Monday and that means grocery shopping. A lot of socializing happens
in our Locally owned store and the isles are sometimes clogged with friends
"talking story". Sharon is all business but I have turned into quite a blabbermouth
talking to just about anybody. Today (being a holiday) the store was loaded with kids and moms.
I happened to see a family with a boy who was wearing a Cub Scout uniform . He had all the patches indicating he had completed all of the rank levels and of course I had to commend him.
Not being satisfied I returned later and encouraged him to not only continue in the Boy Scouts but to strive for the Eagle rank .Then related that I had come close to earning the Eagle rank but had quit, and had regretted it ever since. He looked somewhat intimidated , his mom was laughing nervously and when I returned to Sharon she said he was looking at me like I was crazy. I never realized that being outgoing was so fraught with danger.

Years ago I did this drawing as a project for a graphic design class .
The assignment was to break a design into distinct areas of
contrast. The location is a pathway in the Portmeirion village hotel
(one of my favorite places anywhere) and I tried to present a view of both ends of the path in one drawing. I started to obsess on that ide during one of our many visits to this enchanting place. Portmeirion
is in north wales which is a very mystical place.
Maybe some of it rubbed off on me
